In 2021, Left was re-written as a lightweight graphical text editor for the uxn system. The new version features Uxntal syntax highlight, proportional text, a snarf buffer and chorded controls. See the documentation.

The application was initially created to help Rek with the writing of the novel Wiktopher, and later made available as a free and open source software.
